The Basset Hound was originally imported to the UK from France.

Basset Hounds are renowned for their long body, loose skin and long, low-set ears. Their eyes are lozenge shaped with the red of the lower eyelid showing, though not excessively. Basset’s have a calm and serious expression.

They enjoy padding through muddy fields, but luckily can be easily cleaned up thanks to their smooth, short coats.

Their bark is deep and melodious and they are sociable, affectionate and placid, not aggressive, although they can be wilful! When there is nothing better to do Basset’s sleep. They turn on to food, buy not necessarily to exercise.

They are family dogs, especially for children as they bring a laid back style into the house and are extremely devoted.

Basset Hounds can follow a scent trail that is hours old.

All our puppies are now vet checked on a weekly basis and are sold with vaccination card having had their first vaccinations, with our own vet.
